NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed Bids for the Improvements of;
South Touchet Road
will be received by Columbia County, at the Public Works Office, either by mail at PO Box 5, Dayton, Washington 99328, or delivered in person to the Engineers Office reception desk located at 415 North Guernsey Ave, Dayton, Washington 99328 until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
The bids will be opened and publicly read by the Columbia County Engineer at the Columbia County Public Works Office, 415 North Guernsey Ave, Dayton Washington 99328 shortly after 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Columbia County.

Columbia County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
The improvement for which bids will be received is described below:
This Contract provides for the improvement of South Touchet Road. This project will correct deficient curves, recycle the existing roadway in-place, widen the road to a paved width of 28 ft and a roadbed width of 32 ft, replace existing culverts, overlay with HMA, and remove clear zone obstacles. The intersections at Harting Grade Road and Robinette Mountain Road will be improved for sight distance and realigned to intersect at 90 degrees. Additional guardrail will be installed, all in accordance with the Contract Plans, the Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.
