Treasurer

Responsibilities

The county treasurer is the custodian of all funds for the county and its governmental subdivisions, maintaining financial records reflecting the receipt and disbursement of funds in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals. Funds are disbursed on warrants issued by the County Auditor and other district authorities.

Real & Personal Property Taxes

The treasurer bills and collects all real and personal property taxes certified on the tax rolls of the county, including foreclosure proceedings against properties for the non-payment of tax. Funds held in the county treasury are invested for the benefit of various funds in accordance with statutory guidelines.

Bonded Indebtedness

The treasurer accounts for and pays all bonded indebtedness for the county and its governmental subdivisions.
